Mirtha M. Lara, She is also a Notary Public and Justice of the Peace in Massachusetts

After completing her GED, Mirtha attend college. First, Mirtha completed her associate degree in Human Services at ABCD’s Urban College. She then moved on to complete her bachelor’s at Springfield College.  In the meantime, Mirtha was hired at the Parker Hill/Fenway site as a summer and winter employment youth.  From then on, her involvement with ABCD only increased.  In 2001, she was hired as a staff member of the Parker Hill/Fenway NSC where she excelled as a Case Manager and Neighborhood Client Services Coordinator.  After six years, she was promoted to Operations Manager of the South End APAC.  

She then moved out of the country to Montreal, Canada and decided to come back to USA in 2011. She was hired at Boston Housing Inspections Department; she was there for a year and then decides she wanted more contact with the families and the services ABCD offered and return to ABCD. Providing core ABCD services to low-income Hispanic and Jamaica Plain residents.  In addition, she started a teen center with the Boston Housing Authority in Jamaica Plain’s Bromley Heath public housing development as well as offering civics classes and assistance to immigrants applying for citizenship. She separated from ABCD in 2016 but continue providing immigration services to those in need. She also expended in her knowledge by working at Nuestra Comunidad assisting with Home Buyer Classes and Foreclosure Assistance. 

Mirtha applied at Catholic Charities of Boston and become Program Director at two different shelters managing over 160 individuals. She was able to assist many obtain permanent housing, immigration status, daycare services, health insurance and benefits. She separated from CCAB and enjoined RTH where she empowered more families to become self-sufficient. But now Mirtha has decided to work full time on what she enjoys the most, assisting low-income families to reunite with their loved ones. Therefore, she now runs Mirtha Multi Services and provides a list of numerous services!
